Deputy On Duty- Weblog

Well today Saturday sees the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress visiting Saron!
Now before you Counciltax payers start leaping up and down ...about paying for foreign visits... this is just a might closer to Wolverhampton than you may have guessed. In fact we shall be joining in the 150 year celebrations of ''Saron'' the Presbyterian Church of Wales. They inform me that it is 150 years since the first Welsh Christian ''cause'' was established in the City of Wolverhampton in the Year 1854.

Now this is a first for me as I have never worshipped in a ''Welsh'' Church. Councillor Bob Jones of Blakenhall usually is our history master when it comes to ''Welshness''. So I am hoping that I will bump into him tonight at the service.

I shall ensure that the ''Weblog'' reports on the occassion! Oh...I have been researching the Bateman family tree, and find that my Great Grandmother Ruth Bateman was born in Glamorgan Wales.....so I wonder if she ever worshipped at Saron?......move over Bob Jones bach!....I feel a dragon stirring in my veins!
