Alcohol and Anti Social Behaviour

One of the real gripes residents have is that when they inform the police of offences taking place that the police do not always respond and let them know what they have done. Lets face it this is also a major grumble from elected Councillors also.
Councillor Phil Bateman said " So with this in mind let me tell you what I can about a number of actions the police have taken in this part of our Constituency.

Police carried out off road patrols on Friday 16/7 and Saturday 18/7 between 6 pm and 11 pm.

They covered a number of sensitive areas here in Wednesfield North they stopped and checked 15 people in the Park on the first day which included the seizure and disposal of alcohol.

They also checked out a quad bike and a field bike ( both being pushed on the road ) and obtained details of the users. Officers also located a den in the fields that is being used by the drug fraternity.

They found evidence of drugs and information that they will be able to use to run checks on a person they believe may be a provider.

A further search of open space led to the arrest of a youth with illegal alcohol and who was in possession of an offensive weapon."

I want to place on record my thanks to Wednesfield Police for taking the issues that residents have complained about very seriously, organising these sweeps with specialist vehicles, and importantly telling residents of the excellent results that have now been recorded on this web site for public consumption. The Police are out to re-assure residents that anti social behaviour and other misdemeanours will not be ignored. I for one thank them for their action.
