Rehearsals!

Monday was another day of intrigue as both Mary and I joined the Mayor elect Councillor Alan Hart and his Mayoress Beryl for what was called the ‘rehearsals’.

We all gathered at the Civic Hall then crossed over like a line of caterpillars over the road into the Civic Hall and along the corridors to the Wulfrun Hall.

All very efficient and with the door being opened for you just in time!

Once in the Wulfrun Hall the rehearsal began, everyone in their place and it went like clock work, pomp and tradition to the fore! The Mayor-elect Councillor Hart had a dicey chair though and it seemed to reduce in height as the ceremony went through its paces. Alan wants that chair changed before the proper ceremony or no one will see him behind the desk!

But it all went very well; the Mayors official’s are all very nice and very helpful chivvying and guiding providing the re-assuring word. So we move swiftly on towards the big day which is Wednesday when the Annual Council Meeting takes place for real.
