Victory In The Election!

So now we know what the outcome of our hard work has been over the last tweve months. A victory for two out of three labour Candidates and the slimmest of victories for the Tory over Gwen Stafford Good. Gwen has been a real trooper over the last twelve months whilst she has been out of office.

She has spent a great deal of time in the clubs with the pensioners explaining Labour policy helping [people with a range of problems. Gwen has been absolutley magic………we are all so disapointed that she lost by the wafer thin vote of one.

But we must go on. We are keen to establish a skateboard park for local youngsters in Ashmore Park. We want to see a better standard of grass cutting across the Ward. Through out the spring and early summer this has been the most lamentable of services.

The City Council have come in for some rightful criticism from residents . They deserve that censor because the grass is so high in places. Its beyond a joke and it needs some action taken and quickly. There will be excuses I know but there is a strategy and that strategy should be carried through. If Cabinet members need to be taken to task I will most certainly do so.

Grass cutting is bread and butter stuff residents want to see their neighbourhoods looking neat and tidy. That is what they pay their Council Tax for.
