Coppice Farm Police Response

West Midlands Police have written to me following local criticism from residents concerning the policing of the open space at Coppice Farm.

Councillor Phil Bateman said that "the police had been in touch with me and that they had explained that there were now patrols taking place at the open space with an emphasis on week ends.

That Wednesfield Police are now working closely with Bloxwich Police in order to ensure that their patrols are co-ordinated and with a view to looking at what measures can be put in place to alleviate the anti-social behaviour which effects the quality of life of local residents.

I am pleased that the police have also told me that the mobile police station that was sponsored by Travel West Midlands will be in evidence in Wednesfield North and that Chief Superintendent Armstrong will be speaking with local schools with a view to requesting their assistance in this matter.

Also the Anti –Social Behaviour Co-ordinator at Wednesfield Police Station will be referring persons identified as impacting on local residents to the Anti Social Behaviour Unit within the Local Authority.

I am pleased that the most senior police officer at Wednesfield has spoken out in such a clear way. I hope that local residents on Coppice Farm will feel re-assured that the police have a plan that they are working to. We all hope that this set of tactics will work and reduce the problems that my constituents are having in this part of Wednesfield.”

There will be an Ashmore Park Police Liaison Committee meeting taking place at Coppice Community Centre in Coppice Close on Tuesday 8th June at 7.00pm. It is a public meeting.
