New Police Chief

Our former Wednesfield Police Chief has left to take up a Post in the very challenging area of Aston in Birmingham.
Councillor Phil Bateman said “Chief Superintendent Tom Duffin left his Wednesfield Office when I was on holiday in Australia. I didn’t have time to wish him well.

As boss of Wolverhampton East Command he certainly made a name for himself with his no nonsense approach to politicians.

I have clashed more than a few times with Mr Duffin and I wished that he had managed to respond a little quicker to some of the issues that I raised. But there is no doubt that the West Midlands Police High Command think very highly of him.

He leaves our part of the City with more than decent crime figures.

I wish him well and hope that he is able to bring the success he had in fighting crime in Wolverhampton, to his new post in Aston.

We now have Chief Superintendent John Jones on a temporary appointment until the summer when a permanent appointment will be made.

Personally I think that the sooner that we can see a permanent appointment in place the better the City will be. I hope in the meantime that Chief Superintendent John Jones enjoys his time with us.”
