Careful New Car Tax Regulations

Residents in Wednesfield North would be advised to note that Motorist will be sent an automatic fine set at £80.00 - if they are late in re-newing their tax disc under new regulations that came into force recently.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " I think car owning residents of Wednesfield North should be very diligent in keeping an eye on their motor tax disc in the future. The Department for Transport has tightened the rules considerably, and the once lax system for sauntering along and paying your tax a couple of weeks after the expiry date is being watched very closely. One day over and you have a fine.... and no doubt even more paperwork!

There are over a million motor vehicles that are currently on the road that are unlicensed, this regulation is aimed at attacking that very unacceptable figure.
