Fair Is Good News!

Wolverhamptons improved rating by the Audit Commission has been described as a " Great Christmas Present" for the City

Councillor Roger Lawrence said that the new FAIR rating by the Audit Commission comes 12 months after a disputed categorisation of WEAK was given for Council services.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " I commented at the time of the last Audit Commission that their previous report that Wolverhampton Council was a weak Authority 'was about right'. But I am keen this time to congratulate the Leader of the Council and his team of Officers who have obviously performed with verve to get the A.C to redesignate the performance as 'Fair'.

The message is that local tax payers are getting better value for the resources that are being used. We need to drive on now and get the even better rating of 'Good'."
