Bucknall Road Complains Also

Residents from Bucknall Road Ashmore Park complained to the
Ashmore Park Liaison Committee about the problems that they have had to face throughout the summer when they have been plagued by youths involved in anti social behaviour.
Phil Bateman said “I know that there have been problems right across the area and it is petty crime that is causing people grief. It is not the big crime issues that are affecting the Ward; it is the anti social behaviour and the criminal damage that is upsetting.

Residents living in Bucknall Avenue told of the arson attacks to their fences and hedges and the groups of young people who were using the vegetation for illicit drinking.

One resident stated to the meeting that her garden fence and hedge had been destroyed by fire, that as pensioners they were not in a position to replace the fence, and they were appealing to the Council to replace it as they were scared for their security. I have agreed to raise the replacement fence with the Local Authority. But again it raises the issue that keeps being repeated about the need to curb underage drinking and disrupting the anti social behaviour being exhibited. ”

The Liaison Committee listened with much sympathy to their complaints.
