Police Action Required

More and more people are feeling threatened by unsocial and anti social behaviour it appears that there is just no end to the problems of vandalism, damage and hooliganism. The police are involved and like others must also feel frustrated.

The latest acts of vandalism has seen the decimation of trees in a copse on the conservation area at Kitchen Lane Ashmore Park. A huge number of these trees have been hacked down causing some neighbours in Essington to become very animated about the damage done.

Councillor Phil Bateman said " I have long held the view that crime would be better fought if we had a police station on Ashmore Park. But the police seem set against that so I am keen that they use other imaginative means to try and instil confidence back into this community.

In recent weeks I have had to write to them about stolen cars, anti social behaviour, allegations of drinking and loud music, egg throwing at homes and many other issues. These issues are not just confined to Ashmore Park. They are isues that hve been reported by residents right across Wednesfield North.
We have also had a report that suggests that Wednesfield has one of the highest rates in the City for disorder offences. Action is required and after receiving information on statistics I will be requesting some action"
