New Boundary Comments

Councillor Phil Bateman has written to Boundary Committee for England commenting on the Future electoral arrangements for Wolverhampton. The correspondence is re-produced on this web page.

He wrote; I generally support the arrangements made for Wednesfield North, the boundary is in the main very easily defined. The community''s that form Wednesfield North are by and large very similar in make up.

The description of the Ward as Wednesfield North is fine and describes its location within Wolverhampton adequately.

Where I think that the arrangements are weak, is in the decision to call for all out elections. This seems very costly when there is so little structural change taking place within Wednesfield North, and Wolverhampton in particular.

I do hope that you will report these comments to the Commission before they take their final decision on boundary changes.
