New Drainage To Relieve Flooded Car-Park

Councillor Phil Bateman labour Wednesfield North today said” The complaints that we have received over the winter about the poor drainage on the car park at Ashmore Park Shopping Parade has now been addressed by Wolverhampton Council.

I have been informed that the City Council now have a scheme drawn up that will improve the drainage on the car-park.

I am hoping that this work will now rid the car park of the huge pools of water that makes life difficult for both pedestrians and shoppers, especially when the water turns to ice.

I have been told that work on the new drainage scheme will start in the new financial year.

Councillor Gwen Stafford Good added “the car-park is a very valuable piece of infrastructure. It has helped to make the shopping centre viable .What we don’t want to see is that custom going elsewhere because shoppers feel safer or more comfortable or have not had to wade through water in other places”
