No Jewellry for children at Woodend Primary School.

I read an interesting Newsletter from Woodend Primary school last week. The Head Teacher has been reminding parents about the wearing of jewellery in school. Governor's will support this request as Safeguarding children is an important aspect of school life.
"Could we draw you attention to our school prospectus, that states:
Earrings/Jewellery
In the interests of safety jewellery should not be worn in school as it can be a
source of danger in some lessons. Pupils who have pierced ears may only wear
small studs and even these need to be removed during PE and swimming
lessons.
We would also ask parents not to allow their children to come into school wearing nail varnish. This applies with immediate effect and will be included in the updated version of our school prospectus."
