World's Loses Great Statement - As South Africa Mourns Mandela Death.

BBC are reporting that South Africa's first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela has died, South Africa's president says.
Mr Mandela, 95, led South Africa's transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison.

He had been receiving intense home-based medical care for a lung infection after three months in hospital.

In a statement on South African national TV, Mr Zuma said Mr Mandela had "departed" and was at peace.

I like many others have always been gripped by Nelson Mandela's huge intellect and capacity to forgive. He will be missed in every Country of the World not just in South Africa. A great man and a great advocate for equality and human dignity.
I do hope the City Council on behalf of the City of Wolverhampton writes to South Africa offering our Cities sympathy and condolences.
Wolverhampton supported Nelson Mandela whilst he was imprisoned, with the naming of a public building after him. It was controversial stuff in those years. But during his term as President of South Africa and after, people in Wolverhampton and across the World recognised what a really remarkable man he was.
