Report Every Incident You See!

The Essington and Wyrley Canal is a great leisure resource for Wednesfield. At this time of the year it is almost at its best.
But there are people who are intent on using the walkways for much darker events. I would urge residents and users to report to the police any signs of malevolent intent to damage or deter ordinary users from taking advantage of this community resource.

In the recent weeks it has been reported to me that youths with airguns are firing at the wildlife. Groups are gathering drinking at Broad lane, damaging the infrastructure, setting fire to the bench, abusing passer's by.

Also a serious wounding has taken place. None of this should be allowed to become common place. I have continually reported incidents to the police. I am keen that we the residents just don't allow the benefits that have been made to be lost due to inaction by the Authorities.

Report every incident that you see, and ensure that Law and Order is upheld. The Police the British Waterways Board and the City Council have all got a role to play. We must ensure that they do so and not turn a 'blind eye' because it is too much trouble.
