There are of course some thanks to deliver to the 1200 core voters who have supported me through this election campaign. I am sorry to have lost, but the Labour result was still substantial.

Not only did we retain the same numbers of Labour votes that we had last year we actually polled slightly more, but no where near as much as we needed to win the seat.

Can I thank Mary and the Members of Wednesfield North for running a very energetic campaign, for having belief in me, and to my family who have provided encouragement and support and who have themselves undertaken miles upon miles of footslogging.

Time is now for a rest and some recuperation, and some thought on how Labour in Wednesfield North can bounce right back!
