Beware Distraction Burglars On The Prowl!

I have been working with a constituent in Barnard Road to make his home safer from stone throwing youths.

Now my constituent tells me that he wants to warn others on Ashmore Park that there are a couple of youths who are using the 'distraction method burglary' then getting into people's property and then robbing them.

My constituent who must remain nameless for obvious reasons, (We will call him Brian) tells me that whilst he was distracted at the front of his property, someone had sneaked into the back. It was only when he heard the crack of the Wardrobe upstairs being forced that he realised something was wrong.

My constituent who is the archetypal brave pensioner you often read about, took it upon himself to try and stop the burglary, he got to grips with the two fella's and I think was very lucky to come off with just a few bruises, it could have been so much different.

I told him that I thought he was fortunate not to have been badly injured, but 'Brian' said " Phil you ought to see what the guy who had sneaked upstairs did to my bedroom in a very short time. He created so much damage and so much mess. I lost some money, Lost some other stuff, but what I want to do is to appeal to everyone of my generation on this estate to let them know that these two young men are out there and are no doubt looking to do on some one else what they did to me!

I want to warn Ashmore Park on what has happened".

Finally 'Brian' said the police turned up quickly and he said "I was pleased with the way that they went about their business. But lets not have anyone else duped like I was!"

The reason for this article is to ensure as many people in our community as possible know now about these two youths who are active in this sort of crime.
