Extra Patrols For Ashmore Park

Recently I wrote to both the Police and Wolverhampton City Council's Leisure Services department following attacks on properties in Barnard Road that back onto the Park, by stone throwing youths using the Ashmore Park to commit their unpleasant acts.
I was informed by residents that a number of homes had their windows broken a number of times since this hooliganism has started.

I wrote to the Chief Officer requesting help for my constituents.

I am pleased to inform residents that the response I have had from Leisure Services is most helpful.

John Pugh informs me that "We will carry out some early evening patrols of the park but with the lighter nights our resources are stretched but we will do our best. Please let me know if (these attacks) it continues or ceases,l will also have our contractors remove stones and any other materials that could be used as missiles".

This information has also been fed into Wednesfield Police and I am hopeful that they too will be stepping up their preventative measures. In the meantime if any resident does know who is responsible for these acts. Would they tell the police, or me, or failing that Crimestoppers where you can give your information anonymously.
