Police List Their Priorities

Councillor Phil Bateman said today that " I am constantly being asked about the number of petty incidents that are happening on the estate.

There is major concerns expressed by residents and I have re assured them that I am doing my best to highlight and work with the Authorities in delivering some action to reduce the crime and criminal damage we see happening."

West Midlands Police inform through their website today that there current priorities are:Anti-social behaviour in Bucknall Road
Anti-social behaviour around the ‘top shops’ Griffiths Drive

They list there past priorities as being ;- At previous neighbourhood working group meetings, priorities included: Anti-social behaviour in and around Snape Road.

To tackle this, the Ashmore Park Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased patrols in the area and identified offending youths in addition to this officers have worked with trading standards to enforce legislation regarding the sale of alcohol to under 18s.
Random damage to vehicles;- To tackle this, the Ashmore Park Neighbourhood Policing Team installed temporary mobile CCTV cameras known as Domehawks in hotspot areas. Since their arrival on the estate, reports of this type of crime has reduced

Anti-social behaviour in and around various alleyways;-To tackle this, the Ashmore Park Neighbourhood Policing Team have worked with the city council to organise lighting to be improved, to have trees and shrubs pruned and installed temporary mobile CCTV cameras known as Domehawks in hotspot areas .

Councillor Bateman added "so there you have it. Police action is taking place and the results are important . I do hope that the police will now publish the success rate of their priority work so residents may see the results of the action they have taken."
