Councillor Phil Bateman said "Whilst talking about crime and the continued attacks property. I have to report yet more criminal damage taking place."
Councillor Phil Bateman said "Whilst talking about crime and the continued attacks property. I have to report yet more criminal damage taking place.

He added "I noticed this morning that the bus shelter on Lichfield Road was damaged, the bus shelter at Peacock Avenue and the bus shelter at Eccleston Road/Griffith Drive. All of which had glass broken over the week end.

I also had a constituent write to me informing me that on the 14th January this time on the Springhill Estate several walls were knocked down in Shardlow Avenue and Duckhouse road and a shop window in Wootton Avenue was broken.

I am told that the police followed this group of individuals, but left some on the estate upset in the way that they treated the offenders.

I have been asked to take this matter up with the police. I have written to them and I am now waiting for a response.
What is certain is that the police are coming under more pressure to deal with this type of crime. Residents want action to be taken by the police and the judiciary to halt this spiral of decline that they see taking place.

I shall be once again writing to the Authorities requesting action be taken to arrest the decline in law and order that is taking place in our neighbourhoods."
