Pressure Mounts on Highway Engineers

Councillor Phil Bateman said today that "Residents in both Wednesfield North and Wednesfield South will be pleased to know that I have continued to press for a suitable highway scheme to improve the Lichfield Road. I am concerned about the junction of Broad Lane North/Lichfield Road.

"I have asked about how we can deal with the problem of the access and egress from Linthouse Lane and Stubby Lane onto the Lichfield Road near to the Albion Public House.

Engineers tell me that they are close to building a detailed traffic model, and that consultants are working on the finer modelling detail.

I am informed that the Lichfield Road is being eyed as a future location for safety cameras. There is a thought that this development may also make this years capital programme."

Great Wyrley –Essington Canal Improvements

Councillor Phil Bateman said today " These are exciting times if you value the Essington and Great Wyrley canal here in Wednesfield! My campaign to improve the canal continues. Part of the work on the canal tow path is nearing completion, and the results will make this a much safer walkway and a much more attractive development for everyone using it in the New Year."
