Five Arrests Made

There has been quite a problem on Coppice Farm and Ashmore Park where criminal damage is causing concern.

Councillor Phil Bateman said "A number of local youths have been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to vehicles on Friday 9/12/07 in Gurnard Close on Coppice Farm Estate.

A number of motor vehicles had their wing mirrors ripped off and damaged .This vandalism and criminal damage has caused outrage on the estate.

Previously I had informed residents that criminal damage was the top crime on Ashmore Park/Coppice Farm with 93 cases recorded during a 12 month period.

I understand from the police that enquiries are still continuing and the police are still looking for residents who have any information that can help them
re- construct what actually happened on the night, and provide the evidence that they require that will help build a case against the five individuals that have been arrested.

I would like to further appeal to anyone who may have any information at all on this incident, to contact the police or phone crime stoppers on 0800 555111 and give the information anonymously."
