45 Burglaries Committed

"I thought that it was interesting that at tonight's meeting of the Police Consultation Committee that oversees Beat 17 in Wednesfield, that there was so much good news that was available" said Councillor Phil Bateman

He went onto say " The police gave a breakdown in crimes that had taken place on this giant police beat that takes in the heart of the Village as well as the estates of Wyvern Park, Linthouse Springhill estate, and Woodend all three in Wednesfield North.

They reported that there had been low levels of crime committed in the last two months;
34 Crimes logged as theft from shops
21 Theft from Motor Vehicles
6 Stolen vehicles
32 Burglary other
9 Burglary dwellings - Five of these burglaries were for stolen car keys!
The police informed us that they had arrested, charged and the courts had sentenced Paul Holdcroft for five years. He had admitted as many as 45 burglaries. The meeting was elated that this man had been convicted and his one man crime wave would now fall away whilst he was in Her Majesty's Prison. The police recognised that the fact that they had been given extra resources had helped in keeping crime figures low in the last two months. Inspector Turley reported that the PCSO's were having a positive impact upon the beat. Currently there are 9 Police Constables, 5 PCSO's and 1 Sergeant that are patrolling Beat 17."
