Wednesfield Police Brief On Action In Wood End

Councillor Phil Bateman said "I have been approached by residents to help them. They requested that I bring their concerns about anti social behaviour in the Moathouse Lane East/Wood End area of Wednesfield to the attention of the local police team."
He added "I have been approached by residents to help them. They requested that I bring their concerns about anti social behaviour in the Moathouse Lane East/Wood End area of Wednesfield to the attention of the local police team.

They have complained that there is gangs of youths who shout and swear and race cars into the early hours of the morning. Some residents believe that these actions are not only illegal but they are also very intimidating for the families that live in the locality."

Inspector Jon Turley of Wednesfield Police written to inform me that "The area is well patrolled by PS Teague and his Team as well as Officers from the Road Policing Unit and the Response Teams

We are aware of certain individual who do cause problems like this in that area and as you are aware we have obtained several ASB orders against a number of them.

Arrests have been made for breaching these ASBOs and other persons have been reported and summonsed for Driving offences from this area.

I am aware that we have also seized and confiscated bikes from the area.

PS Teague has sight of the E mail and will ensure that if possible and when on patrol in the area we address this matter."

Councillor Bateman added " the response from the police will I am sure be seen to be encouraging by those living in this area of Wednesfield. I am pleased that patrols are particularly well briefed about what the community is suffering. The police action as outlined by Inspector Turley I believe demonstrates that they are close to getting on top of this particular part of our communities problems."
