Arson Attack Leads To Bulldoze Call!

Councillor Phil Bateman said "My constituents are becoming exasperated with the petty crime and arson that breaks out from time to time on some of the garage sites on Ashmore Park"

He went onto say "Here is an eye witness account from a constituent who has emailed me whilst watching anxiously as the West Midlands Fire Brigade puts out fires in a neighbours garden after garages in Phillips Avenue were set on fire on Thursday night.

" well its 6.15 on Thursday night and the fire brigade are putting out fires in my neighbours gardens which have
spread from the fires set in.......... yes you guessed it the garages again! the problem has not gone away and I am afraid its just getting worse! There is also the small problem that the roofs of these garages are asbestos which last time I heard was pretty nasty stuff.

Some of the debris has not been cleared from the
last fire! May I suggest that you suggest to the powers that be that they bulldoze these garages ASAP before someone gets hurt or worse fall ill from inhaling asbestos fumes hope you can help?"

Councillor Bateman adds "Now I am first of all appealing for anyone who knows who are committing these fires to let the police know. Secondly I shall be approaching the Wolverhampton Homes to see what use the garages are getting, and see if they can comply with these eye witness residents request to bull doze the remaining garages.

Clearly there are a number of issues here and I shall do my best to ensure that my constituents points are addressed."
