Meeting Top Cop!

Councillor Phil Bateman said "Today I met with Chief Superintendent Green at Bilston Street Police Station. I met with him to discuss policing issues, and how they affect the City. It was an interesting meeting that covered a wide range of issues.

I am pleased that he has agreed to attend a meeting of the Scrutiny Group 'Pride in the City' and I will arrange for City Council officials to make the invite and set the date.

There are a number of key areas of policy that the police would like to discuss with the City Council.

It was a very welcome meeting in that it gave me a chance to raise a number of issues of concern including business crime.

I explained to the Chief Superintendent that business crime was a concern for 'Wolverhampton Business Champions' and that I had agreed to raise one or two issues with the police that they had. I shall now report back to them on the outcome."
