Councillor Phil Bateman said "I went to the Police meeting last night at Jenny Lee Centre for Beat 17. This is a huge beat that covers Wednesfield Village Centre Neachells Lane, March End Fallings Park Wood End Wyvern Park and Linthouse Lane estate.

I asked the police about the constantly vandalised telephone box on the top of Broad Lane North adjacent to the Broadway Public House.

I was surprised when they told me that they were not aware of the constant vandalism that the box incurred.

It led to a debate about if the BT Telecom company indeed 'crime' the incidents. More research needs to be done on this issue. Certainly it is the talk of the neighbourhood as it appears to have all its windows smashed every week. "
