Councillor Phil Bateman said "Tonight at City Council there was an item that was of special interest to Wednesfield North."

He added "Councillor Mrs Paddy Bradley placed a motion on the Agenda criticising the consultation process surrounding the closure of Danesmore Park School. There was a debate in the Chamber that I did not take part in because of the need to declare a 'prejudicial interest'. I left the Chamber at this point to stay within the law.

The motion I understand was voted down by City Council, and the call made to defer closure was also lost.

In the meantime the Adjudicator is considering arguments for the school's retention. A report is expected from him in a few days time."
