36 Panes Shattered In Bus Shelter Attack!

Councillor Phil Bateman said "The scope of the damage caused by the latest out break of vandalism aimed towards the local bus shelters has been highlighted by one of my constituents when he walked from Wednesfield and surveyed the damage both along the Lichfield Road and through Ashmore Park."
He writes "I walked from Wednesfield then around Griffiths drive this afternoon to have a look for myself at the damage to the bus shelters that have just taken place.

There were a total of 36 panes of toughened glass that had been smashed by the mindless vandals at who knows what cost.

Centro employees have been working since early this morning to clear up the broken glass but have to make repeated return trips to base because of the sheer weight of the bags of glass, it is doubtful if they will manage to finish before it gets dark."

Phil Bateman adds " that is the measure of the attack that has taken place over the weekend. This is not an attack on the public transport system. It is an assault on our community and our society. Anyone who knows who is responsible really does need to inform the police."
