Warning On Distraction Burglaries

I think that it is important to note that whilst the police reported at the last Ashmore Park Police Liaison Committee meeting that burglaries were down again last year.

Councillor Phil Bateman and Councillor Dave Jones have joined together urging the following "There are still reports being received of what is described as 'distraction' burglaries. This occurs when one person distracts the householder and then they, or an accomplice enters the home and steals property.

The police reported that there had been two such burglaries taking place locally and people should be on their guard. So we would like to remind our constituents right across Wednesfield North. Please do not let anyone in your house without thoroughly checking their identification. Please be aware of the Water Board dodge, and check anyone arriving unexpected saying they want to read your meter!"
