Youths Smash Fish Shop Window

Last night a group of youths were making a real nuisance of themselves at the shopping centre in Stubby Lane Wednesfield.
Councillor Phil Bateman said "Last night a group of youths were making a real nuisance of themselves at the shopping centre in Stubby Lane Wednesfield. Despite the pouring rain there was a crowd shouting and swearing, and being intimidatory outside the Chinese Take Away when I approached at about 8.40pm.

They then moved away across the other side of the shopping centre to congregate outside the Fish & Chip shop. Whilst I was collecting our regular 'Chinese', word soon came through that this group had smashed the big shop window of the Fish and Chip shop.

The police quickly arrived but the gang had fled. With police cars now touring the area, and rain belting down it was not a pleasant experience for anyone. I am informed that gangs of youths are causing problems regularly at this location. Last night I had the misfortune of seeing it all play out in front of my own eyes. The police response to me could not be faulted, no sooner were we told that the window had been smashed, the cars were arriving..or so it seemed.

But the question that was on everyone lips last night...was why these youths needed to act so violently and destructively to the facilities that they have in what is clearly their own community? Britain appears to have a real social problem developing, one that is based around intolerance, violence and lack of respect.

Last night was disruptive to everyone, and very costly to the owners of the Fish and Chip shop.I am sure if anyone has names of the group of boys and there was at least one girl in the group that was responsible, I am sure the local police would be very pleased to hear of them. Or of course you could tell crimestoppers anonymously on 555111."
