Hungarian Festival Lifts City!

Councillor Phil Bateman said today " Wolverhampton's Hungarian Christmas is in full swing for the second year. Why not pop a long and take a look at what is on offer. The gossip is that the prices being charged by the Hungarian traders this year is far more in line with reality. That the food is good, and craft items are also well priced and sought after! The Hungarian market is giving the City a real international flavour!"
Wolverhampton Christmas Festival
Wolverhampton is set for a festive treat for the whole family this year with the start of the city's Christmas Festival on December 9th.

At the heart of the festival will be the return of an authentic Hungarian craft market to Queen Square in the city centre, with a bright array of unique hand-made crafts and a mouthwatering selection of hot and cold food.

Just a short walk away in the Civic Centre Piazza will be a superb arctic-themed Christmas grotto, nativity scene and mini funfair.

There will be bands, choirs, face painting, street entertainers and other performers in Queen Square and in the Piazza.

The festival kicks off on 9th December in the Civic Centre Piazza with the Beacon FM Roadshow and breakfast presenters Fresh and Jo between 11am and 2pm.

There will be an opportunity to win a fabulous weekend break in Budapest, with runners-up prizes of a VIP day and hospitality box at a Wolves home game, along with 2 signed shirts.

The Hungarian market proved to be an instant hit last year as thousands of shoppers came to the city in search of unique leatherware, jewellery, toys, continental sweets, glassware and much more. And in between perusing the wooden chalets, visitors warmed themselves with a portion of piping hot goulash, or a slice of langosh - at traditional Hungarian pizza-style dish.
