Police Act Against Nuisance Drivers

During the summer there had been numerous reports of cars that were speeding in Kitchen Lane and in and out of the Park.
Councillor Phil Bateman said " These reports of speed and nuisance that had been aired at the Ashmore Park Police Liaison Committee had been acted upon. Wednesfield Police reported that fixed penalty notices had been given to motorists that had been caught breaking the speed limit and infringing other laws.

The City Council reported that a number of speed humps had been placed inside the park to reduce the impact of drivers speeding within the limit of the Park. This had appeared to be succesful as the complaints have been reduced.

The Police also reported that there had been no progress in the shooting that had taken place in Park Way at the entrance to the Park in the summer. Residents were curious about how the incident had occurred and why it had taken place at this site. The police gave no indications as to the reasons suffice to say that there had not been any other such incident and that the man was shot was not a local person."
