Police Make Appeal

Wednesfield Police report that there has once again been a decrease in crime on Ashmore Park. They report that there had only been 50 crimes in the last two months.
Councillor Phil Bateman said " The Estate is being told that crime is down again, and that we are once again classed as a low crime area.

That is most definitely a plus situation.

On top of the fact that Ashmore Park has only registered low numbers of crime, the police report that they had also arrested 21 persons who were responsible for some of these actions.

They made the point that amongst the arrests were several people for burglary. But they made an urgent appeal when they warned that there had been two distraction burglaries on the estate.

These were nasty offences and had took place within the last two months.

Two young lads dressed as water company officials had robbed homes having duped their way in by using these disguises. The Police made an urgent appeal to residents to be on their guard and to report anything that they thought was suspicious."
