Police Urged To Act!

There have been some very major problems taking place in Bucknall Road now for some years. There has been the deliberate targeting of homes by a gang of young people. Despite complaints the matter has not been adequately dealt with by the Police.
Councillor Phil Bateman said tonight "Looking back in my records I find that I contacted the police twice in 2004 to report incidents, in 2005 the number of incidents that I had reported had risen to five. In 2006 I have reported two further incidents. I just do not know how many times residents have reported crime during this period.

I do not think it is right that this type of crime should go on undetected, because it has only made the youths more brazen and more determined to cause trouble.

There are very serious concerns that are around in the neighbourhood, and the seriousness of the last offence really does mean that Wednesfield Police will be forced to tackle this issue.

I want Bucknall Road residents to know that I have written to the police asking for the Domehawk camera to return.

I have asked a number of other questions. I think that the community is going to scrutinise police action thoroughly. I hope that the Police will pull out all the stops to detect the young hooligans that are causing the trouble, and more importantly charge them!"
