Wednesfield Aces Triumph Against Time!

Wednesfield Aces are hosting the British Veterans Final on the 13th of August, at their home track on Ashmore Park Wednesfield. They are triumphant about this, and rightly so as they have faced up to a summer of pain, following their unhappy time after the Club House was attacked by vandals.
Councillor Phil Bateman said today " I know that they worked all day yesterday and well into the night to get the toilet block plumbed, so that the finals can take place on Saturday. Now I hope that a bumper crowd turns up to cheer the individual club members on. As well as giving the Wednesfield Aces Club a general boost.

Following the shocking damage caused to their modest little Club, I have been much encouraged by the way that the community has rallied around. The Coppice Close Community Association through to individual residents, and Ashmore Park Residents and Tenants Associations, have all given sympathy and support and some individuals have managed to find some help either through fund raising or donation.

It is times like this that the community shines through! But again most of the work and the worry has been carried out by Wednesfield Aces themselves. Paul Bodley and his team do a magnificent job in not only flying the flag for Wednesfield and Wolverhampton, but also in running a healthy sport for our youngsters.

My hope that the Cycle Speedway British Veterans fainals will be hugely succesful and that the Aces have a great day, with good support from the Ashmore Park and Wednesfield Community."
