Blog on Elections

Well the General Election has come and gone...no doubt swiftly followed by the Conservative candidate Alex Robson who is no doubt back in the leafy shires feet up and looking for another seat to fight elsewhere in the Country.
Labours effort in Wolverhampton North East are all the year round, every year not just in General Election years. I thought that Ken Purchase our candidate and the sitting MP fought a very good campaign with good information and a real inclusive election address.

I am pleased that Ken won, as I am pleased that we took all three Parliamentary seats here in Wolverhampton and they were very hard fought.

Yesterday as well as trying to recover from a very late night, Mary and I had to support the Mayor as he took a parade of old soldiers in VE celebrations on the Piazza at the Civic Centre. It was as usual a moving ceremony. They then joined the Mayor for high tea in the Mayors Parlour and it was well received by everyone.

The Mayor made a very good speech which was responded to by the veterans who we all owe so much to.

Now issues over the week end will obviously be taking the posters down!
