Blogging Till the End of the Month

Weblog is quite a useful way of letting people know what you are up to in the course of a week or so.

So over the last week I have been involved in quite a number of important issues affecting the Ward here in Wednesfield North. On Wednesday 25th February I met with representatives of TocH and Wednesfield British Legion to talk about the Wednesfield Garden of Remembrance. City officials were in attendance but there had been a failure in my mind in not inviting the church representatives.

The meeting was a good one and Mrs Williams from TocH was mine of information about the history of the War Memorial. There is a report on the decisions taken elsewhere on the site. So I will move on.

On the 28th February last Saturday I met with many others for a community conference organised by Wolverhampton Mediation team who were using a unique conference approach to thrash out what should and could happen on the Coppice Farm Openspace and the problems on the park in Ashmore Park. This was held at the Wolverhampton Science Park .It was a long and very intensive session that went on for well over 4 hours. We await the outcome of the written reports. But residents, youngsters, and police with elected members City and Walsall Council officials all took part. It was as I say intensive at times with a lot of passion being voiced and some arguing to boot!

On Sunday 29th February we were again out campaigning as Wednesfield North Labour Party, it was a cold crisp day but we got around the Ward very well and I am well pleased with the response we are getting from residents. I have no doubt at all that they recognise what a good job their Labour team are doing on their behalf!

As usual I have taken a lot of individual cases that I am progressing with officials.
