City Summit News

Councillor Phil Bateman said "back in June 2003 I wrote to Officials suggesting that a City Summit be called that would give a chance for Wolverhampton to sell itself as a home for industry & commerce.

I am overjoyed that that suggestion has been picked up and carried by the Leader of the Council and Councillor Louise Miles Economic Development Portfolio Holder, of this City Authority.

I understand that the 'City Summit ' will be held on the 15th March . It will feature a key note speaker in the shape of Jacqui Smith, Minister for Industry & the Regions..

The focus of the event is to showcase the real progress that is being achieved in the economic regeneration of the City- translating vision into action. The City Summit is also going to act as a launch pad for a new initiative, but that is best announced by the Summit organisers!. Wolverhampton is a City with a bright future I do hope that we can capture the regions interest and imagination in such a bold venture.

It sounds a very exciting day that will I hope do much to boost Wolverhampton, and I hope that many of the Chief Executives and other influential Directors of business already based in Wolverhampton will feel moved to want to take part."
