More Calls For Cameras

More calls for speed cameras have been made by residents living in Linthouse Lane. Residents have been campaigning now for close on 12 months for cameras.
Councillor Phil Bateman said " Anyone living locally knows that there is numerous times during the day and night when the sound of racing car engines can be heard as racers compete to cover the Lane as quickly as they can.
Residents living in Linthouse Lane by the canal bridge know only too well that there will be accidents. Indeed there are. The toll is slowly starting to climb and the accidents are getting worse. Not only is there a fear of what will happen next. But there is concern that residents are being put at risk and their property is also likely to be damaged.
I am pleased that I have been able to involve West Midlands Police who have run speed checks. But I support the residents call to the new Joint Speed Camera Authority for the permanent placement of speed cameras on strategic locations along Linthouse Lane. I hope that we can get the City Council and West Midlands Police to support our request" Residents or other interested persons are requested to place their support on my web site.
