Footpath 314 Changes.

Councillor Phil Bateman contacted Wolverhampton City Council concerning the future of footpath 314. Footpath 314 links New Invention with Broad Lane North at the point close to the Broad Lane North canal bridge.An application for planning permission for a small housing development at this site meant that change was needed for the access and egress arrangements for the footpath.

Wolverhampton City Council have now informed Councillor Bateman that " A revised planning application was submitted early this year, with the houses moved closer to the canal and the footpath remaining on its present route. The new proposal included the resurfacing of the footpath and installing new lighting. There were no objections to this revised application and planning permission was granted.
The new proposal avoids the need to close or divert the footpath, and the developer therefore withdrew his application for a diversion order."
